TECH INFO about our communication channels from the website and social media to our newsletter, press releases, etc. – Sometimes we might even call people on the phone!
Our mission includes helping people to network with each other in order to improve Broadband service. We are establishing our group as a Michigan Chapter of the Internet Society and we are creating a 501(c)(3). Our roadmap includes members networking with each other to form their own collaboration hubs. As members form these hubs, what sort of entities could and should they become? They could be for-profit or nonprofit. They could be legal cooperatives. The mission of helping people to connect with each other includes researching and gathering information about the various types of alternatives that could be created in different parts of Michigan. Whenever a group of members of our network decide to engage in a project together, a collaboration hub will help them to maintain their own autonomy including the possibility of becoming some type of legal entity eventually. So let’s discuss how we get from here to there and the sorts of tools that will help us in our journey.
This is not an endorsement. It is a request for members to evaluate this tool and also spark peoples imaginations to discuss other alternatives. Open Collective lets you manage your finances so everyone can see where your money comes from and where it goes. Collect and spend money transparently.
